The September 28 edition of The Lawyers Weekly (Vol. 32, No 20, page 7) includes an advertisement celebrating several appointments to our Faculty (left to right): Allan Ingelson, the new Executive Director of the Canadian Institute of Resources Law (CIRL); Sharon Mascher, who served as the Deputy Director of the Centre for Mining, Energy and Resources Law at the University of Western Australia; Bryce Tingle, the first person to hold the new N. Murray Edwards Chair in Business Law; Michelle Christopher, the new Executive Director of Student Legal Assistance (SLA) and professor of clinical legal studies; and Elizabeth Whitsitt, whose special areas of expertise are international trade law and international investment law. Allan’s research centers on the regulation of Canadian and international energy and mining sectors. Sharon held faculty positions in law schools in Canada, Australia and New Zealand before joining us. Bryce’s expertise is in securities law, corporate governance and corporate finance, particularly in the context of start-up companies. Michelle has a Master’s degree in alternative dispute resolution and formerly served as a Dispute Resolution Officer with the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta. Elizabeth holds an LLM degree from New York University and is working on a PhD.
