The Annual Chief Justice William McGillvray Moot Court Competition

The October 4th final of the Annual Chief Justice William McGillvray Moot Court Final Competition, was won by the second year team of Jessica Robertshaw and Jennifer Thiessen, representing the Appellant, and the Top Oralist award went to second year student, Joseph Antifaev. Jessica and Jennifer narrowly beat out the second year team of Andrew MacGregor and Jeffrey Major-Hansford. The final was judged by The Honourable Madam Justice Sheilah L. Martin (Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta), Douglas A. McGillivray, QC (Burnet Duckworth Palmer LLP), and Valerie Prather (Bennett Jones LLP). The awards were made at the reception which followed the final competition, which was sponsored by McLeod Law LLP.  The competititon was organized by Michael Waite and Duncan Taylor of Stones Carbert Waite LLP.  Congratulations to all the mooters who took part! Thanks to all the volunteers who participated in all the rounds of the competition!
