Biography: 

Iwan joined the Faculty as a founding member in 1976, after teaching at the Universities of Saskatchewan and Illinois.

Teaching: 

Iwan currently teaches Torts. When he is not serving as Associate Dean he usually teaches Restitution (Unjust Enrichment) and Remedies as well.

Research / Scholarly Activities: 

Iwan's research interests span the private law of obligations, with particular emphasis on the law of remedies, including personal injury litigation. He is a former consultant to the Law Reform Commissions of Canada and Saskatchewan, and his writing has been cited in numerous judicial decisions, including judgments in the Supreme Court of Canada.

Committee Service: 

Iwan was appointed Associate Dean in July 2008.  He serves on the Faculty Planning Committee and chairs both the Academic Appointment Review Committee and the Faculty Promotions Committee. He is also the Faculty Advisor for the Alberta Law Review and serves on the University's Promotion Coordination Committee.
