Mooting & Debating

The Faculty's Mooting and Debating Program includes both non-credit and credit moots and debates.The non-credit moots are the McGillivray Moot Shield,  the Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP  Negotiation Competition and the Blackstone Medals Debate, all described below. The Credit Moot Program consists of 10 competitive moots:

Descriptions of each credit moot can be found in the application form.  The Faculty of Law is pleased to note that 2 new credit moots have been added to the curriculum: the Bowman Tax Law Moot and the Willms & Shier Environmental Law Moot.

McGillivray Moot Shield 2011 (non-credit)

  • Annual internal competition - Open to 2nd & 3rd year students only
  • Students register in teams of 2 participants
  • Rounds 1, 2, 3 & Semi-Final Round are scheduled to take place after 5:00pm
  • The Problem & Decision Release - TBA - The Problem, The Decision, The Rules, The Competition Format

Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP - Negotiation Competition (non-credit)
